Costa Rica, a Must-Visit Place for Nature Lovers
Day 9 Dominical - San Gerardo de Dota
In the morning we will head to San Gerardo de Dota. This is the highest elevation in Costa Rica. There are a number of high-altitude species we haven't seen before, such as the pink-throated hummingbird, the long-tailed silk flycatcher, the graythorn bird, the oak pecker and so on.
Several species of high-altitude hummingbirds, which are only found here, can also be photographed in the area, such as the pink throated lampling hummingbird, brilliant hummingbird, diphtheria gem hummingbird, fire throated hummingbird, etc.
We will explore along a river to find some high altitude birds such as the Black-collar Oriental Warbler, the White-necked Serval Warbler, and the Firethroat Warbler. There will also be opportunities to see beautiful Peacock Needle lizards.

Day 10 San Gerardo de Dota - San Jose
Today we will go to find and photograph the mysterious and amazing phoenix tailed green biter, known as the "world's most beautiful bird".
They live in the alpine cloud forests here, feed on wild avocados, have tail feathers that can reach nearly twice the length of their bodies and fly like fairy ribbons, making them particularly striking.
After seeing the stunning birds, we head back to downtown Central San Jose.
A tour of downtown San Jose in the afternoon will give you time for some shopping or a visit to a bookstore.
